Brazil recorded 264 deaths from Covid and 15,298 cases of the disease, this Wednesday (10). With that, the country reached 610,080 lost lives and 21,911,382 people infected by Sars-CoV-2.
The moving average of deaths is down 25% from data two weeks ago and is now 254 deaths per day. The moving average of cases, in stability (with no variations greater than 15%) is now 10,958 daily infections.
Country data, collected up to 8 pm, are the result of collaboration between sheet, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate the numbers related to the pandemic of the new coronavirus. The information is collected by the consortium of press vehicles daily with the state Health Departments.
Covid-19 vaccination data, also collected by the consortium, were updated in 24 states and the Federal District.
Brazil registered 1,022,658 doses of vaccines against Covid-19, this Wednesday. According to data from the state health departments, there were 79,307 first doses and 738,617 second. 221,125 booster doses were also recorded.
Single doses had negative records (-16,391). This was due to revisions in the data from Bahia (-1,812), RondĂ´nia (-2,715) and Santa Catarina (-14,202).
Santa Catarina also revised the other data and brought negative records in first doses (-121,154), second doses (-63,157) and booster doses (-85,692).
In all, 156,403,747 people received at least the first dose of a vaccine against Covid in Brazil —117,879,192 of them have already received the second dose of the immunizing agent. Added to the single doses of the Janssen vaccine against Covid, there are already 122,487,005 people with a complete vaccination schedule in the country.
Thus, the country already has 73.32% of the population with the 1st dose and 57.42% of Brazilians with a complete vaccination schedule. Considering only the adult population, the values are, respectively, 96.49% and 75.57%.
Even those who completed the vaccination schedule with two doses must maintain basic care, such as wearing a mask and social distance, experts say.
The initiative of the consortium of press vehicles took place in response to the attitudes of the Jair Bolsonaro (non-party) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and took information off the air, with the interruption of the dissemination of total cases and deaths. In addition, the government released conflicting data.
