Moderna CEO Stefan Bansell said the company, thanks to its mRNA technology, would gradually bring new drugs to market, and predicted that it would continue to make strong sales of Covid-19 vaccine boosters, even if the pandemic crisis in developed countries subsides.
As he said, most likely the booster doses will be introduced every year for people over 50 and those who are vulnerable due to chronic diseases.
He estimated that there is an 80% chance that Covid-19 will develop into an endemic disease this year, due to the large increase in Omicron infections and the increase in vaccinations. Endemicity, according to Banchel, will allow the company to charge a higher price for its vaccine.
