- In the case of conditions favoring intense exposure to smoke, it is recommended to leave the area, if possible, for as long as the phenomenon remains intense.
- If it is not possible to leave the area, limit your movements, stay indoors as much as possible and keep the indoor air as cool and clean as possible by following the recommendations below:

- Keep windows and doors closed, and use air conditioning that has indoor air recirculation and well-maintained filters. Operate the air conditioner with air recirculation only.
- Avoid smoking indoors.
- Avoid using a vacuum cleaner (electric or conventional).
- In the absence of smoke outside, ventilate the interior spaces to renew the air by opening the windows.
- Avoid outdoor activities as long as smoke is present.
- If you must move outdoors, use a high-protection mask (e.g. type N95, FFP2, KN95).
- Avoid physical exertion.
- Drink plenty of water and fluids, especially during periods of heavy smoke.
- In the event of respiratory or cardiovascular symptoms that may be related to excessive smoke exposure, such as persistent cough, difficulty and/or wheezing, chest tightness or pain, fast heart rate, nausea, unusual tiredness or dizziness, seek medical help immediately.
