The municipality of Athens is proceeding with the upgrading of two Municipal Clinics to Multi-Physicians from the beginning of the new year. As announced by the Municipal Authority, funding was secured through the “Attica 2021-2027” Program allocated to the municipality by the Region of Attica, with the aim of implementing important projects in the capital for the next six years. The specific project ensures both the continuation and reinforcement of the operation of the four existing Multi-Dynamic Municipal Clinics (Solonos, Neos Kosmos, Petralona and Kypseli) as well as the upgrading of two more to Multi-Dynamics, in Patisia and Ampelokipi.

“In the upgraded Multi-Physical Clinics of the municipality of Athens, our commitment is put into practice. Our doctors and specialized social scientists provide, every day, free primary health care and social solidarity services for all residents. We strengthen the social services and structures of the municipality of Athens for the benefit of every citizen“, said the mayor Haris Doukas.

For her part, the deputy mayor of Social Solidarity and Equality, Maria Stratigaki, stated that “The Municipal Clinics are the central social structures in each of the seven municipal communities. We are continuing the work of upgrading them to Multi-Power, in accordance with the international standards of the World Health Organization. We take a holistic approach to vulnerable city dwellers closer to where they live».

And the managing director of the Development Company of the Municipality of Athens, Ioannis Georgizas, emphasized that “Through Development Athens, we managed to quickly join the OCHE for the new programming period NSRF 2021-2027 a series of important projects that Athens needs, in order to improve the quality of life and daily life of its inhabitants”.

The Multipurpose Municipal Clinics welcome the residents of Athens every day with extended hours (8 a.m. – 8 p.m.) providing free primary health care and preventive medicine services and social solidarity services (psychosocial support, legal and employment counseling, etc. .p.) to those in need.

They have more than 20 medical specialtieshealth professionals and social scientists, while in these the beneficiaries have the possibility to request a free appointment with the specialty they wish or to consult Reception and Service advisors for all the services provided. In all seven Municipal Dispensaries, the possibility of electronic prescription is offered to beneficiaries and clinical examination to uninsured.

At the same time, the mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas, made a statement about the issue of the bar in Vouliagmeni, where minors were having fun and were taken to the hospital due to alcohol consumption. “We will deal hard with any illegality in Athens. To whom it may concern, to whom it may concern. Tomorrow, I propose to the Municipal Council the closure of this particular bar in Vouliagmenis“, he said specifically.

In the meantime, the municipality of Athens issued a statement regarding the tree that fell on Patision Street. As he mentions, a vegetation check had recently been carried out on the entire tree line, it was in good condition and he emphasizes that its fall is due to the impact of a truck.

“On 29/10/2024, at 5:00 in the morning, after the Athens Traffic Police informed the Green Division, a team of the service arrived with a crew of climbers to intervene in a tree on Patision Street, at number 7″, initially states the announcement and continues that “the tree, a 25-year-old Maple tree, had suffered damage to the trunk at a height of 3.5 meters from the ground, due to a truck which, during the parking movement, hit the tree. This had the consequence of exerting forces on the base of the tree, which broke at the point of adhesion of soil and root system, causing the tree to detach from its root system and rest on the supports of the trolley lines.

It is noted that the tree had recently been checked for vegetation, as was the case with the entire tree line, and no branch or large arm was sticking out. The tree was in good phytosanitary condition, while it did not have any support, but a protective iron railing one meter high».

And the announcement concludes that “the fall of the tree on Patision Street is attributed exclusively to the impact of the truck, as the inspection that had been carried out recently did not reveal any problem with the tree or its structure».
