Brazil recorded 320 deaths by Covid and 10,341 cases of the disease, this Saturday (13). With that, the country reached 611,255 lives lost and 21,951,291 people infected by Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The moving average of deaths is 262 deaths per day — a variation of -16% compared to the average of 14 days — that of cases is 11,320 infections — a variation of -2% in relation to two weeks. Amapá, Acre, Mato Grosso do Sul and Roraima did not register deaths in the last 24 hours. Distrito Federal does not update the database of cases and deaths on weekends.

The country’s data, collected up to 8 pm, are the result of collaboration between Folha, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate the numbers related to the pandemic of the new coronavirus. The information is collected by the consortium of press vehicles daily with the state Health Departments.

Data on vaccination against Covid-19, also collected by the consortium, were updated in 23 states and the Federal District. Ceará, Acre and Sergipe did not update the information.

Brazil registered 1,239,573 doses of vaccines against Covid-19, this Saturday. According to data from the state departments of Health, there were 132,971 first doses and 932,577 second. 1,632 single doses and 172,393 booster and additional doses were also recorded.

In all, 156,830,489 people received at least the first dose of a vaccine against Covid in Brazil —120,559,357 of them have already received the second dose of the immunizing agent.

Added to the single doses of the Janssen vaccine against Covid, there are already 125,101,796 people with a complete vaccination schedule in the country.

Thus, the country already has 73.52% of the population with the 1st dose and 58.65% of Brazilians with a complete vaccination schedule.

Considering only the adult population, the values are, respectively, 96.75% and 77.18%.

Even those who completed the vaccination schedule with two doses must maintain basic care, such as wearing a mask and social distance, experts say.

The initiative of the consortium of press vehicles took place in response to the attitudes of the Jair Bolsonaro (non-party) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and took information off the air, with the interruption of the dissemination of total cases and deaths. In addition, the government released conflicting data.
