High levels remains the positivity of influenza in the community, the respiratory-RSV virus is increasing, as well as the incidence of infants, as opposed to the COVID-19 decreasing.

According to the ERDY Epidemiological Report for the period January 27th with February 2, 15 new serious cases of influenza were recorded in ICU and seven new deaths from laboratory confirmed influenza.

Influenza

The plot of influenza in the community (as estimated by the Sentinel PFI surveillance network) remains above the limit that marks the seasonal activity of the influenza, with no significant change compared to the previous week. The positivity of the Sari Surveillance Network samples showed an increase compared to the previous week.

In the last week, 15 new serious cases of ICU and seven new deaths were recorded by laboratory confirmed influenza. In addition, a serious case of laboratory confirmed influenza was reportedly stated in ICU hospitalization.

From the beginning of 2024 until February 2, 2025, recorded deaths in serious incidents with laboratory confirmed influenza amount to 91.

Overall, 113 laboratory confirmed cases of influenza with hospitalization in ICUs and 30 deaths from laboratory confirmed flu has been recorded from the principle of influenza. Between 2,154 samples (Sentinel community, Sari surveillance and hospitals outside the surveillance networks), 312 (14.5%) positive examples for influenza viruses were found. 303 of them were standardized, with 262 (86.5%) belonging to type A and 41 (13.5%) to type b.

Of the 243 Type A executives, 163 (67%) belonged to sub -A (H1) PDM09 and 80 (33%) to Subject A (H3).

SARS-COV2 virus-COVID-19 infection

The positivity of all controlled samples declined compared to last week.

234 new imports were recorded. The average weekly number of new imports in the previous four weeks was 496.

The number of new intubations were five. The average weekly number of new intubations in the previous four weeks was 11. The number of patients with COVID-19 infection who are hospitalized is 21.

The number of deaths was 17. The average weekly number of deaths in the previous four weeks was 25.

Since the beginning of 2024 until today, recorded deaths in serious cases (intubated and/or hospitalized in ICU) amount to 369.

The KP.3 and XEC submissions of BA.2.86 are the executives in the detects.

At the national level, the weighted viral load on urban waste water is at low levels compared to historical data, falling from last week.

The number of Sari outbreaks per 1,000 visits was reduced compared to last week.

Positivity has increased both in the community (Sentinel PFI surveillance network) and Sari surveillance network, however, remaining low.
