The average weekly number of new imports in the previous four weeks was 306 – No new intubations were recorded
The influenza in the community continues to record a significant increase, as opposed to the low-level COVID-19, according to the EDYY epidemiological report for the period 10-16 February. In the last week, 5 serious cases of influenza were recorded in ICU and 2 new deaths.
Regarding Covid-19, no new intubations were recorded, we had 170 new imports and 8 deaths.
In particular, the EDYY report states:
Influenza
The plot of influenza in the community (as estimated by the Sentinel PFI surveillance network) remains above the threshold that marks the seasonal activity of the influenza, showing a slight increase over the previous week.
The positivity of the Sari surveillance network samples showed a significant increase compared to last week.
Five new serious cases of ICU hospitalization and two new deaths were recorded by laboratory confirmed influenza. In addition, two serious cases of laboratory confirmed influenza were reportedly reported to ICU and one laboratory confirmation for previous weeks. 133 laboratory confirmed cases of influenza with hospitalization in ICUs and 39 deaths from laboratory confirmed flu has been recorded from the principle of influenza surveillance.
Between 2,479 samples (Sentinel community, Sari surveillance and hospitals outside the surveillance networks), 413 (17%) positive examples for influenza viruses were found. 402 of them were standardized, with 328 (82%) belonging to Type A and 74 (18%) to type b.
Of the 315 type A strains, 193 (61%) belonged to sub -A (H1) PDM09 and 122 (39%) to Subject A (H3).
SARS-COV2 virus-COVID-19 infection
The positivity of all controlled samples is at very low levels, with no remarkable change compared to the previous week. 170 new imports were recorded. The average weekly number of new imports in the previous four weeks was 306. No new intubations were recorded. The average weekly number of new intubations in the previous four weeks was eight. The number of patients with COVID-19 infection who are hospitalized is 12.
Eight new deaths were recorded. The average weekly number of deaths in the previous four weeks was 19.
Fluid Subscription – ILI (regardless of pathogenic)
The number of influenza subscription cases per 1,000 visits showed a slight decrease compared to last week.
Severe Acute Respiratory Infection – Sari (regardless of pathogen)
The number of Sari cases per 1,000 visits showed a slight decrease compared to last week.
Respiratory Syndrome – RSV
Positivity has increased both in the community (Sentinel PFI surveillance network) and Sari Surveillance Network, but remaining low.
