Today, February 26, the issue of electronic referrals and the mission of the first news SMS to the beneficiaries of the Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Treatment Program began.

The program concerns more than 5.2 million citizens aged 30 to 70 years of age with AMKA and includes a series of free preventive examinations, with no financial burden on citizens, whether they are insured or uninsured.

The main objective is to identify cardiovascular disease in a timely manner, which are one of the main causes of death, often affecting even younger people in our country.

All beneficiaries, whether they have intangible prescription or not, insured and uninsured can plan their exams free, simply and easily through collaborating diagnostic centers (public or private). The list of affiliated centers where free exams are performed is available on the official website of the Cardio.gov.gr program.

It is noted that in the framework of the National Prevention Program, the program for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease is the 4th in a series of preventive examinations implemented by the Ministry of Health after the breast cancer prevention program Intestine.

  • For breast cancer, 617,835 women have already been examined, of which 144,469 were referred for further checks and 40,776 have reported suspicious findings.
