Influenza

The plot of influenza in the community (as estimated by the Sentinel PFI surveillance network) remains high, decreasing compared to the previous week.

The positivity of the Sari Surveillance Network samples showed a decrease compared to last week.

During the last week, seven new serious cases of ICU hospitalization and three new deaths from laboratory confirmed influenza were recorded. In addition, five serious cases of laboratory confirmed influenza were retroactively reported and two deaths with laboratory confirmed influenza for previous weeks.

Overall, from the Authority of Influenza to March 9, 2025, 166 laboratory confirmed cases have been recorded with ICU hospitalization and 55 deaths from laboratory confirmed influenza.

Between 3,225 samples (Sentinel community, Sari surveillance and hospitals outside the surveillance networks), 672 (21%) positive examples for influenza viruses were found. 661 of them were standardized, with 457 (70%) belonging to type A and 204 (30%) to type b.

Of the 435 type A strains, 230 (53%) belonged to sub -A (H1) PDM09 and 205 (47%) to Subject A (H3).
