The Deputy Minister of Health praised the initiative of the WHO for this issue. He said the book is an important aid tool for health professionals both in our country – and especially in island and remote areas – and in the rest of Europe.

The Deputy Minister of Health, among other things, stated:

“Along with the ongoing reform of primary health care, we are completing the reform of mental health care in our country.

Half of all mental health problems in adulthood begin during or before adolescence, and the Covid-19 pandemic has worsened the mental health status of many children and adolescents.

Mental health care services provided within the community that are fully integrated into the core primary health care services are vital to promoting, protecting and improving the mental health and well-being of our children and adolescents.

Today I had the honor to deliver to our Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis the preliminary summary of the National Action Plan for Mental Health of Greece and at its center is a Program for Mental Health of Children and Adolescents, which is completed in full by the Handbook for Children and Adolescents of the WHO “.
