Fourth dose for 70 years and over starts on the 29th in the city of São Paulo

The Municipal Health Department of São Paulo will begin to apply on Tuesday (29) the fourth dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 in the elderly from 70 years old.

To receive the vaccine, you must have taken the third dose at least four months ago. Vaccination will be done with available immunizers, according to the folder.

Vaccination will take place at UBSs (Basic Health Units) and AMAs (Ambulatory Medical Care) Integrated, from 7 am to 7 pm, in addition to megaposts and drive-thrus, from 8 am to 5 pm.

Elderly people who are in Long Stay Institutions or who are bedridden and unable to travel to the units will be vaccinated by the ESF (Family Health Strategy) teams.

To get vaccinated, it is necessary to present an identification document, preferably CPF or SUS card, in addition to the card with the registration of the doses received previously.

Of the 556,000 São Paulo residents over 70 years of age, 450,347 are eligible to receive the fourth dose.

Last Friday (18), the secretariat began to apply the fourth dose in the elderly from 80 years. For the municipal secretary of Health, Edson Aparecido, advancing the second booster dose is to further protect the elderly against the coronavirus at this stage of the pandemic.

“The vaccination logistics built by municipal management remains to immunize the entire population against Covid-19 in the city of São Paulo”, he said.

Until this Monday (21), the capital had applied 29,228,750 doses of vaccine against Covid-19, with 11,693,918 first doses, 10,715,918 second doses, 347,946 single doses, 6,440,878 additional first doses and 30,090 additional second doses. , including immunosuppressed adults over 18 years of age.

Vaccination coverage of the population over 18 years is 110.1% for the first dose, 106.1% for the second, 69.7% for the first additional dose and 0.3% for the second additional dose.

In adolescents aged 12 to 17 years, 972,534 first doses were administered (115.2% coverage) and 850,422 second doses (100.8%).

In children aged 5 to 11 years, 905,236 first doses (83.6%) and 419,672 second doses (38.7%) were administered.
