Georgiadis: The NHS changes and becomes better

In a post on social media on Thursday morning the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadisnotes that with the new system: “(a) we will collect real data on what is happening and we can intervene in excessive delay b) each of us will be aware of the hospital for a short time accordingly, c) we can plan targeted policies.”

Adonis Georgiadis’ post

From the first moment I took over the responsibility of @ypyggr’s political leadership, I have set as one of my main goals to reduce the average waiting time in on -call and to reduce the suffering of patients in them. We have already implemented a series of measures (recruitment of additional traumators, Red Cross volunteers, doctors specifically for ICTs, changing on -calls, telecommunication of imaging exams, etc.), today we start piloting from the Evangelism, directly to the other 11 major hospitals. With this system a) we will collect real data on what is happening and we will be able to intervene in excessive delay b) each of us will know in a short time depending on the hospital we choose how much waiting, c) we can plan targeted policies. Good luck! The NHS changes and gets better.

In detail the 10 meters to improve the NHS

1. It begins today in the Emergency Department of “Evangelism”, the standard operation of the tracker digital system in each patient who will allow doctors to attend the tests in which each patient has undergone and all the “attitudes” he needs to do during his presence in the ICT. The goal is to rationalize and improve care providing. The pilot operation will be extended to 14 hospitals by mid -July and to 80 hospitals until January 2026.

2. In June, the separate evaluation of hospital services begins. Will be able to take part in any patient who is discharged. The evaluation will be done through a specially designed digital questionnaire.

3. In June, the High Cost Delivery of High Costs from EOPYY to thousands of beneficiaries begins to reduce the suffering of insured persons. Shipments will be operated by a specialized teleportation company.

4. In the same month we will have a universal start, throughout the mountainous and island Greece, of the Mobile Health Groups (KOMY), for the regular provision of examinations and care to the residents of small communities and settlements.

5. The recruitment of 430 health and administrative officials in ICT in Attica is accelerated in 2025. These are 58 doctors, 121 nurses, 165 traumatic carriers and 86 other staff.

Renovation and upgrading of infrastructure

6. This year 11 state -of -the -art IPPs will be delivered to major Attica hospitals. Still four will be delivered within 2026. Tomorrow the TEP is delivered to the CAT.

7. Seven thousand free afternoon surgeries in private clinics with resources of the recovery fund. The first beneficiaries have already received SMS on their mobile phones and the first interventions have already been carried out. The goal, at the end of the program, is not to wait even for incidents of over four months, which is corresponding to good practices in EU countries.

8. 16 new trauma centers are created across the country, within the structures of the NHS.

Prevention that saves lives

9. Over 2 million citizens have already taken part in the preventive exams of the Spyros Doxiadis program. Of these, 363,500 have been referred to further examinations thanks to these actions and more than 65,000 have been identified in time with findings, resulting in much better chance of successful treatment of their condition. It turns out once again that prevention saves lives.

10. The recruitment plans is enriched by the beginning of the end of July of the action to combat obesity of adults. Includes free medical evaluation and monitoring, as well as prescription medications for obesity in people with very severe obesity (BMI over 40) and co -institutions. As part of a holistic approach, support will be provided by specialist nutritionists, which will be a prerequisite for continuing pharmaceutical treatment.
