Coronavirus: 12,518 new cases – 50 deaths – 361 intubated – 232 re-infections

The new laboratory confirmed cases of the disease (individuals) recorded in the last 24 hours were 12,518. The total number of people who became ill amounts to 3,164,995 (daily change + 0.4%), of which 49.0% are men.

The number of possible new infections recorded in the last 24 hours was 232 while since the beginning of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic the total number is estimated at 118,767 (3.6% of the total number of positive results).

The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 is 50, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 28,076 deaths have been recorded. 3 95.4% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated intubated are 361 (65.9% men). Their median age is 70 years. 92.2% have an underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 200 (55.4%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 161 (44.6%) are fully vaccinated.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,509 patients have been discharged from the ICU. The admissions of new COVID-19 patients in the hospitals of the territory are 340 (daily change -0.87%). The average seven-day admission is 369 patients. The median age of cases is 36 years (range 0.2 to 112 years), while the median age of death is 79 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).

Tested samples: From January 1, 2020 until today, in the laboratories that perform tests for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and that systematically state the total of the samples they test, a total of 10,735,875 clinical samples have been tested while from Health Units and Scales of EODY performing Rapid Ag tests 65,627,871 samples have been tested. The seven-day average is 241,198 sample checks.

Self-tests: As of April 8, 2022, 104,034,246 statements of self-diagnostic result have been recorded electronically, while 6,293,101 people came for re-examination.

Bulk Sampling EODY: On April 8, 2022, 170 sampling actions were carried out by the Mobile Health Teams (KOMY) of EODY, in which 21,444 Rapid Ag tests were performed and 2,756 positive (12.85%) were found.
