Brazil has a moving average of deaths from Covid of 100 per day

by

Brazil reached the moving average of 100 deaths from Covid per day, this Sunday (17). In the last 24 hours, 18 deaths and 2,243 cases of the disease were recorded.

The low numbers can be explained by the Easter holiday and the weekend, times when the pandemic data is lower due to notification delays in the health secretariats.

With this Sunday’s data, the country reached 662,011 lives lost to Covid and 30,248,082 people infected by Sars-CoV-2.

Again, Rio de Janeiro did not update its pandemic data. The update will be normalized on Monday (18).

Moving averages of deaths and cases continue to decline from two weeks ago. The average number of deaths, as mentioned above, decreased by 49%. The average number of infections reached 14,272, a reduction of 34%.

Country data, collected up to 8 pm, are the result of collaboration between Sheet, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disclose the numbers related to the new coronavirus pandemic. The information is collected by the consortium of press vehicles daily with the state Health Departments.

The consortium of press vehicles stopped updating the numbers of vaccinated against Covid-19 on weekends and holidays. On working days, the data will be updated normally. The measure aims to avoid inaccuracies in the numbers provided to the reader.

The change, which debuted on Friday (15), is due to problems in the consolidation of vaccination data by state departments. Seven states no longer update the total number of vaccinated on weekends and holidays, and even those that do sometimes report outdated numbers, which do not correspond to reality and are usually corrected in the following days.

There is no change in the balance of cases and deaths from the coronavirus, which will continue to be published by the vehicles every day, at 20 pm.
