There are some kitchen life preservers in our kitchen cabinet. One of them is the humble Cubby.

Whether you put it in a stew, Bolognese, or sauce, these handy little blocks give you maximum flavor with minimum effort.

But what if we say that the classic cube is now inverted?

Knorr, in collaboration with the chocolate company Cox & Co, has announced a cube of chocolate, also known as a “stock” chocolate cube.

But before the horror recedes, there is indeed some logic to the new release. After all, many add chocolate to delicious dishes like chili con carne and Mexican mole.

Made with 71% cocoa and sea salt, these chocolate cubes claim to have a “bold, punchy flavor” that can be used to add richness to a variety of everyday favorites.

It also doubles as a chili cube. That is, it can be dissolved directly in a dish (for a more pleasant taste) or mixed with a small amount of water to dilute it.

Also, if the reviews are right, the chef of the house will not be disappointed. So far, the cube has been awarded 4 and 5 stars.

Each 60g pack, currently available online for £2, contains 6 individual cubes.

Also note that these are limited editions and won’t be around forever.
