A duo of sibling cats who spend their days comforting their families and staff at a hospice have been named Cat of the Year 2022.

Jasper and Willow captivate the judges with their feline charms, beating hundreds of other cats to win the prestigious award.

The pair first won the prominent Rescue Cats category, which honors kittens adopted from animal charities, before being named National Cat of the Year by a panel of distinguished judges.

Jasper and Willow will share the trophy and the winner’s package, which includes a £200 voucher for the pet shop.

Hospice home manager Jackie Manville said:

Since they’ve been with us, they’ve brought comfort to countless people, including patients, family, friends, and staff.

“Jasper and Willow really go to show how special they are as rescue cats and we are so proud of them both.

They follow last year’s winner, Minty. Minty is a three-legged Welsh cat who helps 6-year-old Connor with a severe learning disability and medical condition.

This award is held annually by the Cat Conservancy and aims to honor domestic cats in the country.

And it’s clear that current and former winners have the ability to do great things in their communities.
