One of Britain’s most remote houses, inaccessible by road, is for sale for £300,000.
A derelict 3 bed farmhouse next to the furthest signal box in England on the Settle to Carlisle railway line, 20 mins walk from the nearest car park.
The photo shows the country house of a former railway worker perfectly situated in the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales.
And despite the huge price tag, the property is in need of a major renovation due to bare walls and lack of modern conveniences.
The decor options for the two bedrooms are acquired tastes, one with floor-to-ceiling blue paint on the walls and the other completely decorated in purple.
Also, there is currently no trunk line service available at home, but we may be able to get permission to make it more residential.
When it was last used, windmills generated electricity and water was transported in trailers.
Interested parties are advised to drive 20 minutes from the parking lot to the property. This section is only suitable for 4×4 vehicles and quads.
The house is located in Warnside, North Yorkshire, and is part of the Three Peaks Challenge, which is attended by approximately 200,000 people each year.
Agent Fisher Hopper said:
“Planning requires the necessary consents. It is in the heart of a national park, but there is great potential here for the right buyer with a vision.”
Originally built for workers by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway after World War II, the cottage is the last of three buildings still standing.
Its previous owner was John Myerskopf, an inmate who was hired by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Service in 2010 to plan an execution action.
This came after a large amount of scrap and debris was stored above ground, including five unused oil tanks, a campervan, a small bulldozer and two shipping containers.
He placed the order and the site was cleared and ready to become a family home or small business. In other words, it’s perfect for buyers who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty.
