(News Bulletin 247) – Air India, part of Tata Sons, has signed an order for 40 GEnx-1B and 20 GE9X engines, as well as a multi-year TrueChoice engine services agreement. The agreement was signed in coordination with the airline’s firm order for 20 Boeing 787s and 10 Boeing 777Xs.

Air India also announced an order from CFM for more than 800 LEAP engines to power all of its narrow body aircraft, ie 210 Airbus A320/A321neo and 190 Boeing 737 MAX. CFM is a 50/50 joint venture between GE and Safran Aircraft Engines.
