(News Bulletin 247) – With its partner trinamiX, a subsidiary of BASF, Continental presents a world innovation: the Driver Identification Display with an integrated camera solution for the biometric identification of the driver.
This new development recently won the CES 2023 Innovation Award in the ‘Vehicle Tech & Advanced Mobility’ category at CES 2023 in Las Vegas and will be showcased at Mobile World Congress 2023, which will be held from February 27 to March 2. in Barcelona.
“Our driver identification display sets new standards in terms of safety and convenience,” said Philipp von Hirschheydt, Head of User Experience Business Area at Continental.
Integrated facial authentication is based on a technology developed and patented by trinamiX. By recognizing human skin, the system prevents identity theft, for example by means of photographs or realistic masks of the legitimate driver.
“Continental and trinamiX share the goal of improving consumer safety and convenience,” added Wilfried Hermes, director of consumer electronics North America and Europe at trinamiX.
