(News Bulletin 247) – Eni publishes an update of its 2023-2026 plan and confirms in passing its targets for reducing scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, targeting a 35% reduction by 2030, 80% by 2040 and then net zero by 2050, relative to the base year 2018.
Eni estimates that its upstream production should increase by 3 to 4% on average each year until 2026, before leveling off until 2030. The share of gas in production will increase to 60% by 2030.
The company plans to grow contracted LNG to more than 18 MTPA (million tonnes per annum) by 2026, double 2022 levels.
Eni says Plénitude’s renewable energy generation capacity will increase to more than 7 GW by 2026 and more than 15 GW by 2030.
The company intends to more than double the number of its charging points by 2026. In this context, Eni estimates that Plénitude’s EBITDA should be multiplied by 3 by this date compared to 2022.
On the financial side, Eni is targeting a 2023 EBIT of 13 billion euros, the second best in 10 years after the record of 2022. In its scenario Eni anticipates an operating cash flow of 17 billion euros in 2023 which should reach more of 69 billion euros over the duration of the plan.
