(News Bulletin 247) – Burberry announced on Wednesday that it had recruited its new chief financial officer from the British luxury car manufacturer McLaren Group.
Kate Ferry should join her teams at the latest in September, replacing Julie Brown who will leave her post in April after more than six years with the company.
Ferry is currently the chief financial officer of McLaren Group, where she oversees financial strategy and investor relations, while contributing to the manufacturer’s broader strategic direction for two years now.
Prior to her arrival at McLaren, she had been the chief financial officer of telephone operator TalkTalk between 2017 and 2021. She also sits on the board of directors of the fast food chain Greggs.
At Burberry, she will be tasked with helping chief executive Jonathan Akeroyd continue the recent turnaround begun by the British luxury house.
Following his appointment, Burberry shares dropped 2.4% on Wednesday morning on the London Stock Exchange. The title nevertheless shows an increase of more than 46% over the past 12 months.
