(News Bulletin 247) – Ericsson and Virgin Media O2 announce that they are extending their partnership to bring greater 4G and 5G coverage and capacity to major UK cities.
The two companies have entered into a new multi-million pound contract to deploy the latest products and solutions from Ericsson’s radio systems portfolio in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Additional service upgrades and small cell solutions are included as part of the network upgrade which will allow Virgin Media O2 customers in major UK cities to benefit from increased mobile capacity, better coverage, faster speeds and a better 4G and 5G experience.
Jeanie York, Chief Technology Officer at Virgin Media O2, said: ‘We will be able to make improvements quickly and efficiently, allowing us to quickly evolve into the future-proof networks that our customers expect. ‘
