(News Bulletin 247) – IBM today unveiled new single-frame, rack-mount configurations of the IBM z16 and IBM LinuxONE 4, extending their capabilities to a wider range of data center environments.
The IT giant says these new options are designed with sustainability in mind for highly efficient data centers, helping customers adapt to a digitalized economy and ongoing global uncertainty.
Introduced in April 2022, the multi-chassis IBM z16 has helped transform industries with large-scale real-time AI inference and cryptography resistant to quantum computers.
“IBM z16 and LinuxONE systems are renowned for their security, resiliency, and large-scale transaction processing,” said Matt Eastwood, SVP, WW Research at IDC. ‘Customers can now access the same standards of security and resiliency in new environments with single-frame and rack-mount configurations, giving them flexibility in the data center.’
