(News Bulletin 247) – The European Commission has approved, under the European Merger Regulation, the acquisition of joint control of Archipels SAS by Caisse des dépôts et consignations (CDC), EDF, Engie and Imprimerie ( IN), all five based in France.

Archipels is active in France in the sector of anchoring and certification, by blockchain, of documents and information related to the individual and the company, as well as in the management of portfolios of this type of information. . It is currently controlled by CDC, EDF and Engie.

CDC is a French public establishment with special legal status carrying out activities of general interest as well as activities open to competition in the sectors of the environment, real estate, investment and private equity as well as services. .

IN is active, in France and abroad, in the sector of services related to physical identity and secure digital services.

The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns, as Archipels only carries out and expects to carry out limited activities in the European Economic Area.
