(News Bulletin 247) – Pernod Ricard announces today the signature of its first line of credit indexed on sustainable development indicators (sustainability-linked loan) for an amount of 2.1 billion euros, refinancing in advance its existing line of credit maturing in June 2024.
This line of credit links its financing conditions to two environmental objectives: the reduction of absolute greenhouse gas emissions from the Pernod Ricard group’s production sites and the reduction of water consumption per unit of alcohol produced in its distilleries.
The line of credit has been signed with 22 banks, with an initial maturity in April 2028 and a two-year extension option.
The operation was coordinated by BNP Paribas, documentation coordinator and facility agent, and Crédit Agricole CIB, CSR coordinator.
“This latest ‘sustainability linked’ line of credit demonstrates our desire to reduce our environmental impact and protect the ecosystems that produce the ingredients that make our brands iconic,” says Vanessa Wright, Head of Sustainability.
