(Reuters) – Twitter’s new chief executive Linda Yaccarino said on Saturday she was inspired by the vision of social network owner Elon Musk to create a better future, and was excited to idea of contributing to the transformation of the platform.
“I’ve long been inspired by (Elon Musk’s) vision to create a better future. I’m excited to take that vision to Twitter and transform this business!” she wrote in a tweet.
This is Linda Yaccarino’s first public intervention since the announcement of her appointment on Friday.
Linda Yaccarino was until her resignation Friday director of advertising at NBCUniversal, where she worked to modernize the advertising activities of the entertainment and media division of Comcast.
Since the Tesla boss bought Twitter last October for $44 billion, advertisers have pulled out of the platform, worried their ads would appear near inappropriate content.
Elon Musk acknowledged earlier this year that Twitter’s advertising revenue had fallen sharply.
