(News Bulletin 247) – The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has awarded Accenture Federal Services a position on a global purchase contract to upgrade IRS systems. The contract has a ceiling value of $2.6 billion.
Under the terms of the overall purchase agreement, Accenture Federal Services will compete for future work orders to help the IRS Application Development Office create new ways for taxpayers and tax practitioners to interact with the agency.
“These reforms will result in faster processing of returns and faster distributions of the credits and benefits that are vital to so many Americans,” said Jessica Powell, CEO of Accenture Federal Services.
