(News Bulletin 247) – Stellantis announced on Monday that its partnership with the American Archer, a manufacturer of electric aircraft intended for the urban environment, had entered the execution phase.

On the occasion of the Bourget air show, the two groups assured that they were progressing “rapidly” with a view to the implementation, planned for mid-2024, of the construction of the factory based in Covington (Georgia).

This site will specialize in the manufacture of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft with the objective of producing up to 650 aircraft per year.

Eventually, a possibility of extension could bring production to 2,300 aircraft per year.

Stellantis says some of its employees have joined Archer teams full-time to support operational readiness, with the current focus on manufacturing automation and component sourcing.

Its people are present in almost all areas of activity, namely manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, quality, facilities and human resources.
