TOKYO (Reuters) – Nissan shareholders on Tuesday approved all 10 nominees to the Japanese automaker’s board, including chief executive Makoto Uchida, during the first general meeting since a new alliance agreement was announced. was announced with Renault.

The meeting was held against a tense backdrop as sources say Nissan is investigating accusations Makoto Uchida had his now ex-deputy Ashwani Gupta stalked – announced this month Gupta’s departure from the group took effect on Tuesday.

In the letter written by a senior adviser to make these accusations, divisions within Nissan’s management over relations with Renault and concerns about the transfer of intellectual property to the French group are highlighted.

No questions were asked on this subject by the shareholders during the general meeting, three days after the publication of elements of the letter.

Nissan and Renault announced last February an overhaul of their alliance providing in particular for the French group to reduce its stake in the Japanese group, currently 43%.
