(News Bulletin 247) – TotalEnergies announced on Wednesday that it has signed a series of agreements with the petrochemical group Ineos with a view to realigning their respective stakes in assets located in eastern France.

With this exchange of stakes, the French energy giant says it wants to consolidate the integration between its petrochemical sites in Feyzin (Rhône) and Carling (Moselle), while Ineos will strengthen its operations on the Lavéra site (Bouches-du -Rhone).

As a reminder, the ethylene production and consumption sites of TotalEnergies and Ineos are interconnected via a network of pipelines and storage, starting from Lavéra, passing through Feyzin and going as far as Carling in the northeast.

In detail, Total plans to sell to Ineos its stake in the Lavéra steam cracker as well as part of its stakes in the ethylene pipeline and storage network in eastern France, of which TotalEnergies will remain the operator. .

The operation should enable it, at the same time, to consolidate the key role of the Feyzin petrochemical platform as an integrated supplier of ethylene to the Carling site.
