(News Bulletin 247) – Siemens announces an investment of 1 billion euros in Germany and will create a plan for the industrial metaverse in the metropolitan region of Nuremberg. The group will invest 500 million euros for new Technology Campuses in Erlangen.
The new campus will become a global development and manufacturing hub and the hub of technology activity for the industrial metaverse.
“Through this investment, Siemens is creating an industrial metaverse model, a virtual representation of the working environment. The targeted use of relevant physical data and the application of artificial intelligence enable the creation of the latest generation of information systems.
‘This investment is a strong signal for Germany as a place of innovation and production. The state-of-the-art factory built in Erlangen is a good example of how our economy is moving towards innovation and production with good, sustainable jobs,’ German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said.
