(News Bulletin 247) – The CAC 40 is moving up at mid-session during a day with relatively little macroeconomic news. Investors therefore focus on the results of companies.

Without real support from the macroeconomic side, the Paris Stock Exchange manages to continue its march forward. The CAC 40 thus advances by 0.35% to 7352.25 points this Thursday at mid-session.

The news in terms of statistics is quite poor. Investors will however pay attention to the weekly jobless claims in the United States at 2:30 p.m.

For the time being, it is the results of companies that are scrutinized, with those of Tesla and Netflix on Wall Street.

The electric-vehicle automaker certainly beat expectations in the second quarter, but management comments pointing to further price cuts seized the market, with the stock losing 3% in pre-open trading. Netflix, for its part, dropped more than 6% because its turnover turned out to be lower than expected.

The real estate company Gecina took 3.6% thanks to better-than-expected results in the first half, which led it to revise its annual outlook upwards.
