(News Bulletin 247) – Danone is among the biggest drops in the CAC 40 index on Tuesday, penalized by an unfavorable opinion from Bernstein analysts, who say they are worried about the group’s prospects.
Around 1:45 p.m., the title thus fell by 1.6% while at the same time the CAC dropped 1.3%.
In a large study devoted to the European food and consumer goods sectors, Bernstein analysts indicate that they have lowered their recommendation on Danone and Henkel to ‘underperform’.
They believe that the two groups, like Reckitt and Unilever, are among the market players today ‘least well positioned for future success’.
‘We are well aware that many investors appreciate the recovery operated by Danone because of the good choices which seem to be made by the general manager’, underlines the research department.
‘We share this point of view, but we do not yet have any proof that this strategy is working and that it will significantly improve future growth, brand strength and price control’ , concludes Bernstein.
