(News Bulletin 247) – The smart label specialist will deploy its solutions in the 132 French stores of the Lapeyre brand. SES-imagotag is thus strengthening its presence in the high-potential sector of home furnishings.
After being selected by the Swedish furniture giant, whose description could be mistaken for Ikea last July, SES-imagotag will support another player in home furnishings to equip its stores with smart labels.
The electronic label specialist said on Tuesday morning that it had been selected by Lapeyre to deploy its Vusion IoT Cloud dematerialized computing platform and its smart labels in the 132 French stores of the residential renovation brand.
SES-imagotag explains that this collaboration with Lapeyre will strengthen its presence in the high-potential sector of home furnishings, an area that is “at the heart” of its diversification strategy in Europe. Lapeyre intends to accelerate its development with the opening of 25 franchise stores by 2025.
Real time prices
The Vusion platform offered by SES-imagotag perfectly meets Laypere’s needs in terms of in-store display and customer information. The range of electronic labels and solutions developed by the French company will also allow Lapeyre to deploy in real time and thanks to the cloud (dematerialized computing), the prices and technical characteristics of the references offered by the brand.
The platform deployed by SES-imagotag will make it easier for the Lapeyre teams to automate the editing of prices and promotions as well as the management of electronic labels remotely and in real time. Saving time and efficiency in stores or reducing errors are also benefits touted by SES-imagotag to facilitate the missions of Lapeyre employees thanks to its Vusion platform.
“Beyond the price, the labels will give access to a multitude of services. Thanks to the provision of a QR code to scan, it will for example be possible to easily access the brand’s catalog, interactive products (technical characteristics, videos, etc.) with a link to the Lapeyre e-commerce site, or to check the availability of products in store or online”, adds SES-imagotag.
On the financial side, the amount of the contract announced with Lapeyre has not been disclosed but according to Invest Securities, it should be “less significant than the previous contracts announced, in particular the new agreement with Walmart (500 stores) announced last April” . For the design office, the trust placed by Lapeyre in SES-imagotag nevertheless constitutes “good news […] at current valuation levels.
On the Paris Stock Exchange, the market seems to be unaware of this new commercial success won by SES-imagotag. The title of the specialist in electronic labels yields 0.7% to 108.40 euros around 10:20 a.m.
Half-year results expected on September 11
Unless further announced, SES-imagotag’s next meeting with the market is scheduled for September 11 with the publication of the results for the first half after the market. At the end of July, the French group had unveiled its point of activity for the first six months of the year 2023. While SES-imagotag had indeed recorded record turnover in the first half, with growth of more than 30%, one point in this publication had, however, disappointed investors.
The French group had indeed indicated an erosion of the growth of value-added services in the first half, which illustrated according to EuroLand Corporate “a slowdown or the postponement of certain new projects with retailers [distributeurs, NDLR]these being impacted by a particularly difficult economic situation (inflation, drop in volumes, etc.). profitability of SES-imagotag for 2023.
However, the group remains confident in its ability to improve its profitability. He also confirmed his turnover target of 800 million euros for this year. And in the longer term, the prospects “remain intact”, recalled Stifel in his note devoted to this half-yearly point.
“The Walmart contract which starts in 2024 should ensure around 60% of the 2027 objectives, and that the group has enough time to fill the 40% of remaining volumes necessary on this market”, noted the design office at the end of July.
