(News Bulletin 247) – SAP and BT Group yesterday announced ‘a new visionary partnership’ to standardize carbon accounting via the recently launched SAP Sustainability Data Exchange (SDX).
BT Group says SAP SDX enables it to collect, track and share carbon data among its own suppliers, providing unparalleled visibility into the carbon footprint of its products and services.
BT can then share this information directly with business customers when they purchase products through SAP Business Network.
BT Group’s decision to select SAP SDX was driven by its adherence to the carbon data interoperability standards established by the Partnership for Carbon Transparency (PACT).
BT Group is the first UK organization to adopt this process and believes it is to send ‘a strong signal of [son] intent to standardize sustainability reporting across global value chains, address Scope 3 emissions and drive environmental progress’.
