PARIS (Reuters) – European stock markets hesitate at the opening on Friday, focused on the publication later in the day of American employment figures.

In Paris, the CAC 40 hesitates at 8,010.38 points around 08:37 GMT. In Frankfurt, the Dax lost 0.15%, against a FTSE in London, without direction.

The pan-European FTSEurofirst 300 index, the EuroStoxx 50 and the Stoxx 600 are all stagnating.

Futures on New York indices suggest a sluggish opening on Wall Street, with neither the Dow Jones, Standard & Poor’s 500 nor Nasdaq showing any marked variations.

The monthly US employment report for February, released at 1:30 p.m. GMT by the Labor Department, is key to the conduct of the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy, as tensions in the job market may contribute to persistence of inflation.

Investors are also digesting the latest monetary policy meeting of the European Central Bank, whose updated economic projections showed that inflation continued to fall towards the 2% target.

In terms of values, Vivendi fell 3.04% after 2023 figures which disappointed the consensus.

HelloFresh falls 39.49% after revising its medium-term forecasts.
