(Reuters)-The Coinbase cryptocurrency schpto stockings appointed four members on Wednesday in its advisory council, including former American senator Kyrsten Sinema and Chris Lacivita, campaign co-director for the re-election of American president Donald Trump.

The development of a framework for the growth of the cryptocurrency sector was a priority for the Trump administration, while application measures deemed excessive by industry have been applied for years.

The cryptocurrency sector has also donated millions of dollars to support Donald Trump’s return to the White House.

His re -election propelled Bitcoin at record levels at the end of last year, exceeding 100,000 dollars (96,200,10 euros) for the first time.

Among the other new recruits of Coinbase are Bill Dudley, former president of the New York Federal Reserve, and Luis Alberto Moreno, expert in global development and international finance.

The company said that these new executives will support its management team in its fight against “new political and regulatory realities”.

Last month, Donald Trump appointed David Sacks, former Director of the Paypal Operation, as a “Tsar of IT and cryptocurrencies of the White House”, marking a new stage in the overhaul of the American policy.

David Sacks as well as other Trump administration officials are expected to reshape American digital currencies alongside a newly created advisory council.

“The cryptocurrency industry deserves better than that,” said Chris Lacivita, a political strategist who holds the post of chief of staff to the National Republican Committee.

The support of Wall Street, titanic companies or personalities such as Elon Musk, have strengthened the attraction of the general public for cryptocurrencies in recent years, even if the lack of clarity as to the regulations remains a persistent brake .

The market capitalization in the cryptocurrency sector amounts to $ 3.61 billion, according to Coingecko data.

Analysts provide new increases in 2025 for the sector.
