PARIS (Reuters) – The New York Stock Exchange opened slightly on Wednesday before the FED monetire policy decision expected during the session.
In the first exchanges, the Dow Jones index loses 25.69 points, or 0.06% to 44,824.66 points and the Standard & Poor’s 500, wider, fell from 0.21% to 6,055.09 points. The Nasdaq Composite gives way 0.25% or 48.68 points, to 19,684.909.
The American Federal Reserve (FED) is due to render its first monetary policy decision in 2025 to 7:00 p.m. GMT and should keep its rates unchanged – unlike the European Central Bank (ECB) which is expected to lower its own on Thursday.
At the same time, the results season accelerates before Microsoft, Meta and Tesla tonight after the fence.
T-Mobile wins for example 6.20% after having revealed a turnover greater than expectations in the fourth quarter of 2024 and Starbucks 5.84% after a less marked than expected drop in sales.
The values ​​linked to articial intelligence are volatile Wednesday, after the strong fall on Monday due to the announcements of the Chinese start-up Deepseek, while the solid results of the Dutch group ASML reassured the perpectives of the values ​​linked to the sector.
Nvidia lost 2.27%, Micron Technology gained 1.45%and Lam Research wins 0.83%.
