PARIS (Reuters) – The New York Stock Exchange opened down on Wednesday after the new remarks of Donald Trump on customs duties and before the Fed.

In the first exchanges, the Dow Jones index lost 161.78 points, or 0.36% to 44,394.56 points and the Standard & Poor’s 500, wider, fell from 0.25% to 6.114.22 points. The Nasdaq Composite cedes 0.29%, or 58.19 points, to 19,983,265.

Investors await the publication of the report of the last meeting of the American Federal Reserve (“Minutes of the Fed”), scheduled for 7:00 pm GMT, to seek comments from the institution linked to the first policies of the Trump administration.

Especially since the American president relaunched on Tuesday fears of trade war by evoking new customs duties on cars, pharmaceuticals and semiconductors.

The consequences of an increase in customs duties remain vague but the possible implications on inflation anticipations, supply chains and prices worry the Fed as much as economists.

In values, Bumbles loses 19.51% after disappointing turnover forecasts unlike the manufacturer of analog devices chips which earns 3.83% after having indicated predicting results above expectations in the first quarter.
