BERLIN (Reuters) – The European Commission has asked large European companies and companies to detail their investment projects in the United States, according to two familiar sources with the subject, while the European Union (EU) is preparing for trade negotiations with Washington after the threat of customs duties Brandie by Donald Trump.

The members of the business association Busineseurope, an alliance of 42 companies in the region, received a questionnaire on Monday asking them for information on upcoming American investments, with the instruction to respond as soon as possible, said one of the sources.

According to the second source, a similar note requiring details on investment plans for the next five years has been sent to the round table of European manufacturers, made up of 59 members, with a note stressing that the request came personally from the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
