(News Bulletin 247) – The Parisian index completed the day on Wednesday 20 August on a decline of 0.08%, not without having crossed the 8,000 points during the session. The New York Stock Exchange continues to be under pressure.

CAC 40 experienced a relatively peaceful session this Wednesday, August 20. The flagship index of the Paris Stock Exchange lost 0.08% to 7,973.03 points after having hesitated a little. At the highest of the session, the CAC 40 reached 8.004.34 points. The index had not evolved above the 8,000 points since March 27.

The trend at Wall Street was able to weigh slightly on the Paris market. The New York Stock Exchange continues to be weighted by releases in the technological sector. The NASDAQ fell 1% to the European fence after abandoning 1.5% the day before, when the S&P 500 yields 0.45%. IA-related values like NVIDIA (-1.5%) or Palantant Technologies (-4.8%) continue to back down.

“Investors fear that the technological rally will experience a withdrawal/correction with the constant arguments of valuation in the foreground,” observed Dan Ives, analyst at Wedbush.
