The delegation of the monastery of Esfigmenos in Karyes was visited in the afternoon by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and assured the members of the fraternity that the Ecumenical Patriarchate will not stop working for the final settlement of the issue.
The abbot of the fraternity Bartholomew raised with the Ecumenical Patriarch the issue of the continued stay of zealots in the monastery of Esfigmenos and expressed the wish that the issue had been resolved so that they could have welcomed him, not to the delegation in Karyes, but to the monastery.
“Until recently, I made an effort in our favor, in favor of the law, in favor of the church, in favor of the good of Mount Athos, because the final solution of the problem of Esfigmenos will be for the good of everything. For the sake of reason, justice, order, ethics, and so on. Said the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and continued:
“That is why the Ecumenical Patriarchate, together with those of you immediately concerned, will not stop working in this direction and we are optimistic that the time will come,” he said, adding: “Do well and be patient, as I advised you, not absurdities and extremes are needed, but law and truth ultimately prevail. Amen”.
