Curriculum vitae of Mr. Sarma

Mr. Sarmas was born in Kos in 1957. He studied law at the University of Athens (1975-1979). He received scholarships from the French Government (1980-1984) and the State Scholarship Foundation (1980-1983). He did postgraduate studies (DEA) in Criminal Law (1980-1981), Public Law (1982-1983) and Public Finance (1983-1985) at the University of Paris II, where he defended his doctoral dissertation (1981-1985). . In 1990 he published the study “The Constitutional and Administrative Case Law of the Council of State”

Participated and won in the entrance competitions of the Council of State and the National School of Public Administration. From 1987 to 1993 he was a judge in the Council of State, while in 1993 he was appointed to the Court of Auditors.

In 2010-2019 he served as vice president of the Supreme Financial Court and in the five years 2014-2019 as president of the 3rd Department. In 2019 he was elected president of the Court of Auditors, with a four-year term.

Finally, he was a member of the European Court of Auditors (2002-2013).
