The Hellenic Police received 280 new vehicles costing more than 6 million euros today.
For this reason, the Minister of Civil Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, was at the school of police officers in Amygdaleza. As he announced, 80 patrols will be available in Evros, while 95 motorcycles in the DIAS team in Athens and Thessaloniki to strengthen their patrols.
“Today was another step forward for the safety of citizens, receiving 280 new vehicles costing 6 million euros. The 80 patrols are heading to Evros and 95 motorcycles to the DIAS team in Athens and Thessaloniki, following the 100 additional patrols that have already started “, said Mr. Theodorikakos.
The new vehicles of EL.AS.
• 80 patrols (for guarding the border in Evros)
• 30 agricultural vehicles (for border guards in Evros)
• 4 SUVs (for border guards in Evros)
• 95 motorcycles (for the teams of DI.AS Athens – Thessaloniki)
• 5 cranes
• 42 special transport vehicles for patients with covid-19
• 24 vehicles for the Nea Odos Motorway Traffic Department
The expenditure amounts to 6,160,220 euros that came from the state budget and European funds.
