Horror on the Athens-Thessaloniki flight: The double attempt to land and the “thank you” to the pilot

Moments of fear experienced the passengers of the afternoon flight that started at 16.35 from Athens to Thessaloniki, during the landing of the aircraft at the airport “Macedonia”, at a time when the city was in a state of intense weather.

The shocking experience that she and the other passengers of the plane had, is described to GRTimes by the theatrical producer, voice teacher and passenger of the flight, Maria Stefanou, who did not fail to praise the skills and manipulations of the pilot but and the composure of the aircraft crew who maintained their composure despite the difficult landing conditions.

«We had heard that the weather conditions in Thessaloniki were difficult today, however we did not know how unstable the weather was when we arrived. Shortly before landing, the turbulence of the aircraft was such that we could not believe what we were experiencing. I started praying, and some of my fellow passengers told me that they had not encountered anything similar on a transatlantic voyage.Noted also Mrs. Στεφάνου.

He adds that “The pilot’s first attempt to land the aircraft was unsuccessful, so he re-loaded it immediately and attempted again after a few minutes. Fortunately the second time the attempt was successful, but I had already lost my blood. When we stopped I noticed that many passengers had vomited, while others were visibly disturbed by the experienceHe told GRTimes.

Earlier, however, in a post on her personal profile on the internet, the theatrical producer and vocal teacher noted:

«We just returned to Thessaloniki. He took out a ban as soon as we landed. Our plane made two attempts to land. What we experienced is from the unwritten. I do not describe what happened inside the plane due to the turmoil and fear. They had the feeling that we would not land, that we would fall. I went to ask for help, to get courage but when I saw that there was terror next to me, I took strength from myself and gave strength where they needed it. I did not even have it for jokes. Many of us looked at each other in surprise that we were living. For the first time I said my prayer and felt that I could do nothing but stay calm and use the power I have».
