After communication with the border station of health – veterinary control of Evzoni (SYKE) and the Director of the service Mrs. Stergiopoulou on the issue of entry into our country of the four wild animals, two lions and two tigersthere was information that the standard procedure followed in related cases was followed.
He had been aware of the competent veterinarians of the border station for 20 days and all the legal documents for the transport of the animals according to the CITES contract had been sent, for the relevant pre-inspection. The country of dispatch of the animals was the Slovak Republic and in particular the Slovakia Zoo Wild Park in the Velka Lomnica area and place of dispatch is the Municipality of Tirana in Albania.
Their documents were thoroughly checked and the means of transport was also checked. The animals were given water, their condition checked and they continued to their final destination which was the Albania and not Greece. The health-veterinary service of the Evzoni customs was informed about their safe arrival in Albania and photographic material has been sent.
