The Minister of Civil Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, and the Chief of the Hellenic Police, Lieutenant General Michail Karamalakis, participated in the information and awareness campaign organized by the Offices for the Treatment of Domestic Police in Syntagma Square.

Afterwards, Mr. Theodorikakos went to the Alimos Police Department where he inaugurated the Office of Domestic Violence. This is one of the six offices that have started operating in Attica and Thessaloniki and the equipment of the offices is a donation of the company “Papastratos”.

Mr. Theodorikakos in his statements from Syntagma Square stressed that “it is a matter of culture of every society to do everything to put an end to violence between people and especially to put an end to violence against women. Speaking at the opening of the Domestic Violence Incident Office in Alimos, he pointed out that: “the service has started its work for 50 days and has already proved that it can be very effective, as 58 cases have been dealt with here so far , by specialized police personnel, both women and men, by officers trained to deal with such situations “.

“In cooperation with the local government and other state bodies, we are doing what is necessary in order for there to be humanity, solidarity and a proper response to these situations,” said the Minister of Citizen Protection.
