“Monkey” certificates rapid test-Evros: Police officer and 2 soldiers were arrested- How they came into the hands of EL.AS.

Five soldiers and two police officers are involved, among others, in the case of false medical certifications, which was revealed by the investigation first of the Alexandroupolis Security and then by the Internal Affairs Service of Northern Greece.

A total of 21 people are charged in the case, of which 10 were arrested in the context of the highway, while the other 11 are included in the case file.

Among those arrested are a pharmacist who was giving fake rapid tests, an EL.AS police officer and two soldiers who were taking the specific fake certificates to show them at their services without being examined, as well as seven individuals, who were also users. such certificates.

The other 11 accused include another police officer, 3 military and 7 private individuals.

Those involved in the case are accused of violating Articles 221 and 285 of the Penal Code, which relate respectively to false medical certificates and violation of measures for the prevention of diseases.

According to police sources, the case was revealed after an information that arrived a few days ago in the Security of Alexandroupolis that a pharmacy in the area of ​​Soufli was issuing fake medical certificates of diagnostic test (rapid test), to customers without being examined.

The pharmacy was put under discreet surveillance on December 18 and 19, while at the same time information was requested from the competent service, for the data registered in the special platform of the Electronic Government of Social Security (H.D.I.K.A.).

As part of the monitoring and evaluation of all data, it was found that rapid tests were registered in people who did not show up at the pharmacy, or when the store was closed.

The policeman was among them, so the Internal Affairs Service was informed, which sent a team from Thessaloniki to Alexandroupolis.

All 10 were immediately arrested in the context of the highway, while in the course of the preliminary investigation and from the combined study of the data and the data that were registered in the special platform of H.D.I.K.A., the involvement of the others was also substantiated.

The arrested with the case file against them were taken today to the competent Orestiada Prosecutor’s Office.
