The urban regeneration works of the area of ​​the former Hellinikon airport and the coastal front are in full development, just four months after the transfer of the shares to Lamda Development from HELLENIC SA.

In particular, as it appears from the posts of the CEO of Lamda Development Odysseas Athanassiou, but also of the website “the Ellinikon”, the projects in Elliniko are on a rapid development trajectory. The next step, within November, is the start of major demolition work on the fencing and basketball stadiums, the first visible works from Poseidon Avenue, paving the way for the next projects. The start of major infrastructure projects is scheduled for February, as it has been preceded, long before the transfer of shares, the elaboration of studies that so far exceed 80 million euros with every detail for each of the dozens of projects that will be done.

Immediately after the infrastructure works, as it has been announced, the works for the construction of the first “green” skyscraper Marina Tower in the area of ​​the marina of Agios Kosmas, which will be the tallest coastal building in the Mediterranean, begin. As announced, the total budget of Marina Tower is around 250 million euros, incorporating the best environmental practices and the most modern international safety protocols.

At the construction site of Elliniko, the restoration works are underway, among others, with special attention, of the newest monument – shed C ‘of the Air Force “Hangar C”.

Another positive step in the utilization of the former area of ​​Elliniko airport that is in full swing is the recent decision to complete the award process for Elliniko Casino in the Association of Companies with the distinctive title ATHENS IRC, which is an evolution of the original Inspire Contractor Athens, due to the changes that took place in the shareholding structure of the latter, as announced by the Committee for Supervision and Control of Games (EEEP)

Elliniko, as stated by the CEO of Lamda Development, is not just a real estate development project but is a “game changer” capable of changing the data in the Greek economy. According to published data, extending to an area three times the size of Monaco, the renovation of the decommissioned Hellinikon airport will add up to 2.2% to the country’s economy and 80,000 jobs by 2025.
