by

The possibility of electronic self-inventory of Population-Housing 2021 is extended until Monday, December 13, 2021, as announced by ELSTAT.

See the post:

Through the Census, the population of Greece is counted in each Regional Unit, Municipality or Community and independent settlement, covering the whole Territory (mainland Greece, islands, border areas), while at the same time data are collected on the demographic and social characteristics of the population and its housing conditions.

Participation in the Census is mandatory and the data collected is confidential, not transmitted or disclosed to any public or private body and used only for the production of aggregated statistics. It is noted that in the context of the Census no sensitive personal data is collected.

How to do it

• An ELSTAT Inventor leaves in your home a closed anonymous folder that contains the “Unique Inventory Code” of the home.

• A representative of the household, having the “Unique Inventory Code” and his code in taxisnet can through the digital portal of the public sector www.gov.gr inventory the residence and all members of the household.

Those citizens who can not, for any reason, register themselves electronically, will be registered by the Registrar of their area through the process of personal interview.

Detailed steps for the electronic process

How is the inventory done?

The Census of Population-Housing according to ELSTAT, is carried out taking into account the unprecedented conditions due to the pandemic of Coronavirus COVID-19 and based on common methodological principles, rules and specifications in accordance with the provisions of EU Law3 / Regulation8/2008) and in Law 4772/2021 (A ’17). It is pointed out that the data collected through the General Censuses are confidential and are used only for the production of aggregate statistical data by ELSTAT, while no sensitive personal data will be requested from the enumerators.

Why do I have to inventory?

The participation of the inhabitants of Chora in the Census as stated by the Authority is mandatory for the compilation of valid and reliable statistical data for Greece. The statistical data of the Population – Housing Census, at the level of Municipality, Region or in the whole Country, are crucial for the formulation of policies and decision-making at local, regional and national level regarding the living conditions of the citizens (indicatively the sector of health, eg operation of new health structures, education sector, eg number of schools, transport sector, eg transport project design, etc.).

Is my data secure?

The data of the Building and Population – Housing Censuses are registered in a special secure database. For the access to the information of the database, all the necessary and necessary, technical and organizational protection measures provided by the national and Union legislation are taken, in order to observe the confidentiality of the files, according to the provisions of L.3832 / 2010. The database files are inaccessible from any other database to protect against any unauthorized or unauthorized processing. The database is accessible only to authorized persons, including these administrators, appointed by decision of the President of ELSTAT.

The printed questionnaires that will be completed with data of the enumerators are safely kept in storage places of printed material of ELSTAT, in the Central Service and in the Regional Statistics Services, and are kept there for the period of time provided by the existing provisions. After this period, the printed material is destroyed by the prescribed procedures.

Why should I take an inventory? If I do not take an inventory, will an enumerator come to visit me?

The self-inventory gives the possibility to every resident of Chora to inventory his house and the members of his household electronically, through a specially designed electronic (web) application, avoiding personal contact with the Inventor of his area. In case this is not possible, the Enumerator will visit his residence to enumerate him with the familiar procedure with a printed questionnaire.
